Thermal management in new energy vehicles ensures vehicle endurance, charging efficiency, and reliability. The on-board EC electronic fan is the core component of the thermal management system. It is a purely electronically controlled intelligent cooling component that does not rely on engine power. It can regulate the speed and air volume through the vehicle's electronic system, locking in the optimal operating temperature of core components.
1. Protect the three-electricity system, ensure stable endurance and prolong service life
Power batteries, drive motors, and electronic control systems are the core components of new energy vehicles. High-speed driving and high-power fast charging generate a large amount of heat, which can accumulate and reduce battery activity, accelerate degradation, and damage core components. The EC fan relies on temperature sensors to collect data, and the electronic control system intelligently adjusts the fan speed: it increases air volume for cooling under high-load conditions, and reduces speed or even stops under light-load scenarios, thereby reducing ineffective energy consumption and improving actual range.
2. Assist in air conditioning heat dissipation, enhancing driving comfort
EC fans are responsible for assisting temperature control in air conditioning: they accelerate heat exchange in the condenser during summer cooling to enhance cooling efficiency, and balance heat distribution during winter heating to avoid uneven heating. Compared to traditional mechanical fans, EC fans start quickly, produce low noise, optimize interior quietness, and enhance the driving experience.
3. Collaborative liquid cooling system to achieve a closed-loop thermal management system for the entire vehicle
The EC fan serves as the final stage of heat exchange between the vehicle's liquid cooling circuit and the air side. After the cooling liquid flows through the radiator, the heat is forcibly removed by the EC fan through convection. The vehicle controller centrally manages and dynamically allocates cooling resources among various components, adjusting their operational states according to different operating conditions to ensure that the components operate at their optimal temperature.
4. Supporting energy consumption optimization and endurance guarantee for the entire vehicle
The EC fan, driven by electricity, supports PWM stepless speed regulation. It can adjust the speed as needed based on multi-dimensional signals, avoiding inefficient heat dissipation. In low-load scenarios, it reduces accessory power consumption, while in high-load scenarios, it ensures both power and charging speed. It represents a crucial balance between endurance and performance.
5. Fault diagnosis and safety protection
The EC fan can report operation and fault information to the vehicle controller. In case of abnormalities, the system will promptly reduce power or enter a safe mode to prevent overheating of the three-electricity system. Some models support redundant control to enhance the functional safety level of the entire vehicle.
As the fundamental core component of the thermal management system in new energy vehicles, the EC fan, characterized by its intelligence, efficiency, and low energy consumption, continuously ensures temperature control for the entire vehicle, safeguarding the safety and stability of every journey.
